The Institute of Biomedical Engineering hosted the highly successful MEIbioeng 16 - an annual national conference on the 5th - 6th September 2016 at Keble College, Oxford.
Over 230 Academics and Industry Experts attended MEIbioeng 16 to meet, share, debate and learn from their peers.
The annual conference supported the discussion of newly developing Biomedical Engineering research areas alongside established work that contribute towards the common goal of improving human health and well-being via development of new healthcare technologies.
Attendees were able to attend over 30 hours of scientific discussions, debates and presentations across 6 scientific sessions: Biomedical Signal Processing & Machine Learning, Biomedical Imaging & Image Analysis, Computational Modelling & Biomedicine, Non-invasive Therapy & Drug Delivery and Regenerative Medicine & Biomaterials. Alongside newer areas such as Biomedical Engineering such as: IET – Appropriate Healthcare Technologies, Medical Robotics and Mental Health.
A series of educational and professional sessions including Influencing Healthcare Policy, Taking ideas into business, Diversity in Biomedical Engineering and Engagement and Clinical Translation ensured attendees had the perfect opportunity to learn, meet, share and debate.
