Dr. David CliftonDr Clifton said: “One focus of our work at the Institute of Biomedical Engineering, and at the Oxford Centre for Affordable Healthcare, is to provide improved access to healthcare in resource-constrained settings.  I have a particular interest in the problems faced by healthcare systems in the Southeast Asian region.  We are demonstrating the efficacy of combining novel engineering technologies with existing healthcare systems in this environment, particularly in “m-health” settings.  The generous support of the FCO will enable us to build stronger links with collaborating institutions in Malaysia and Brunei, to complement our existing research programmes in China”.
