Major funding will help our ability to search and analyse large volumes of images and videos
Detecting and counting penguinsOur ability to generate and store large volumes of visual data (images and videos) is now very good. However, our ability to efficiently search and analyse this data is at a relatively early stage of development. The objectives of the Seebibyte project are first, to carry out fundamental research in order to develop the next generation computer vision methods that are able to analyse, describe and search image and video content with human-like capabilities. The second objective is to transfer these methods to academic disciplines (e.g. Archaeology, Art, Geology, Medicine, Plant sciences, Zoology) and to industry.
