Oxford Engineering presented with Queen's Anniversary Prize at Buckingham Palace: a memorable day captured on film
The Prince of Wales presented Oxford University’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Louise Richardson, with the Prize Medal and the Duchess of Cornwall presented Professor Lionel Tarassenko, Head of the Department of Engineering Science and Director of the IBME when it opened in 2008, with the Prize Certificate signed by the Queen in the Ballroom of Buckingham Palace.
After the presentation ceremony guests including the Chancellor of the University of Oxford, Lord Patten of Barnes, and eight members of the Institute of Biomedical Engineering, IBME, (a research institute in the Department of Engineering Science) gathered in the Palace Picture Gallery for informal discussions with the Prince of Wales.
The Chancellor, the Vice-Chancellor and Professor Tarassenko were interviewed and in the third video above Professor Tarassenko highlights the impact of the research undertaken at the IBME, with the Chancellor showing strong support for Oxford Engineering at the end of the interview.
