Joachim Behar (pictured left) being presented with his award by Professor Christopher James FIET, Institute of Digital Healthcare, University of WarwickJoachim is a DPhil student in the Intelligent Patient Monitoring Group at the Institute of Biomedical Engineering (IBME), supervised by Dr Gari Clifford, Director of the Department of Engineering Science Centre for Doctoral Training in Healthcare Innovation, and Dr Julien Oster.
This Award is presented to encourage, support and recognise outstanding work by PhD students demonstrating a high level of commitment and advanced understanding of biomedical engineering. The William James Award has been instated by Dr Christopher J James, of Warwick University, in honour of his late father.
Joachim (Balliol College) said: "I feel very honoured to have received the IET William James Award and it is for me a very encouraging sign from the biomedical engineering community to carry on my work. I would like to take the opportunity to thank the people who had an intellectual and financial contribution to this work. In particular my two supervisors: Dr Gari Clifford and Dr Julien Oster for their continuous advices and support".
