Dr Christoffer Nellåker

Dr Christoffer Nellaker is a joint Fellow working between the IBME and the Nuffield Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (NDOG). He is part of the Big Data Institute and is working with using computer vision and machine learning approaches to analyse photographs of faces.

This research is in close collaboration with Prof. Andrew Zisserman at the Department of Engineering Science.

Rare diseases are individually rare but collectively very common. A significant portion of rare diseases have some form of craniofacial manifestation and is commonly a feature used by clinicians to try to find a diagnosis. The purpose is to use digital phenotyping from facial photographs to aid the diagnosis of rare diseases in clinical settings.
