Catherine Paverd

Catherine graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg with a Bachelor of Engineering Science in Biomedical Engineering in 2012, and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in 2014, both with distinction. Her final year Electrical Engineering project was the development of Single Nucleotide Polymorphism analysis software for the detection of genetic disorders in full genome sequences. On completion of her Electrical Engineering degree, Catherine joined Bain & Company as an Associate Consultant based in the Johannesburg office, where she worked mainly in the Financial Services sector. 

Catherine joined BUBBL in October 2015, under the supervision of Professor Constantin Coussios. Her work focusses on the assessment of tumour vascularity through non-invasive monitoring of acoustic cavitation activity. Catherine is supported by a Commonwealth Scholarship from the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office. She is a member of St John's College, and Junior Dean for Welfare at Merton College.
