Harriet Lea-Banks

DPhil Student (4th Year)- EPSRC DTA Studentship

HarrietAcademic Background

Harriet graduated from the University of Southampton in Acoustical Engineering (MEng) with first class honours. Her final year project was under the supervision of Professor Tim Leighton at the Institute of Sound and Vibration Research (ISVR), studying the application of microbubbles and ultrasound to dental cleaning.

Harriet joined the BUBBL group in October 2014 after matriculating as a student of Magdalen College, Oxford. Funded by an EPSRC Doctoral Training Award and supervised by Professors Constantin Coussios and Eleanor Stride, her current work explores computational modelling of streaming induced by oscillating bubbles in an acoustic field. It is hoped that applications of her work will be used to enhance drug delivery using nanoparticles for cancer therapeutics.
