Magda Abbas

CDT in Healthcare Innovation DPhil Student

Academic Background

Magda graduated in 2007 with a BSc in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Khartoum. She then worked as an Electronics Design Engineer in Sudan for Magda Abbasthree years before returning to academia to do a masters in Embedded Systems Engineering in the University of Leeds. She completed the masters with distinction then joined Ultra Electronics ID to work as an Electronics Design Engineer.  In which capacity she undertook analogue and digital design for ID card printers and production test equipment.

In 2014 Magda joined the CDT in Healthcare Innovation and now works in the BUBBL group under the supervision of Robin Cleveland and Constantin Coussios. Her research is investigating the use of patient specific computer models as a treatment planning tool to improve the delivery of high intensity focussed ultrasound into the kidney.
