Matilde Maardalen

DPhil Student (1st Year) - Aker Scholarship

Academic Background

Matilde graduated from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in 2020 with an MSc in Nanotechnology, specialising in device-mediated targeted drug delivery. For her masters thesis, Matilde investigated the underlying mechanism of a drug delivery method called Acoustic Cluster Therapy (ACT), under the supervision of Prof. Catharina de Lange Davies. More specifically, she studied whether this therapy induced an immune response in tumours.

Receiving the Aker Scholarship, Matilde joined BUBBL as a DPhil student in October 2020, under the supervision of Prof. Constantin-C. Coussios and Prof. Robert Carlisle, where she will investigate ultrasound and cavitation-aided immunomodulation in tumours
