Miles Aron graduated summa cum laude from the University of Hartford with a BSE in Acoustical Engineering in 2013 after completing internships at both the US Department of Energy at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory and at NASA Ames Research Centre among others.
After graduation, Miles embarked on a US Fulbright Schlorship in Switzerland, where he worked under the supervision of Dr Vartan Kurtcuoglu at the University of Zurich in the Interface Group. During his Fulbright year he investigated the role of mechanical stimuli in blood-brain barrier opening by focused ultrasound and microbubbles.
Miles joined BUBBL and Hertford College at Oxford in 2014 as a DPhil student under the supervision of Professor Eleanor Stride. Miles is continuing research on the cellular mechanisms behind ultrasound-based therapies with a focus on translation to targeted and non-invasive drug delivery to the brain.
