Tayo Sanders II
Tayo received his BSc in Materials Science from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in 2015 where he graduated summa cum laude. During his undergraduate degree, Tayo was involved in a variety of research projects at Eau Claire and abroad. In 2014, Tayo was awarded a Goldwater Scholarship for his research with Dr. Jennifer Dahl on the characterization and functionalization of 2D arrays of gold nanoparticles. That summer, he worked with Dr. Laurent Douce to synthesize over a dozen new ionic liquid crystals in Strasbourg, France with support from the University of Florida and the National Science Foundation.
Tayo joined the BUBBL group in November 2015 under the supervision of Professor Eleanor Stride. Working collaboratively with Professor Anita Milicic of the Jenner Institute in Oxford, his project aims develop a biodegradable encapsulation technology for vaccine delivery that would allow multiple (prime-boost) immunizations to be combined into a single-dose vaccine while retaining full efficacy. Tayo is a graduate student of Corpus Christi College and supported by the Rhodes Trust.
