Dr Joshua Owen
Joshua graduated with an MSci in Chemistry (international programme) from University College London spending one year on exchange at the California Institute of Technology where he joined the Stoltz group for two terms in 2009 and obtained a Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship working on natural product synthesis and the synthesis of an enzyme inhibitor.
He then completed a Masters project at the Royal Institution of Great Britain during 2010 - 2011, where his research involved conjugating antibodies to magnetic nanoparticles which continued over the summer with Dr Nguyen Thanh and Professor Quentin Pankhurst at the Royal Institution (RI).
Joshua started his doctoral studies in 2010 under Dr Eleanor Stride. His research focused on the development of magnetic microbubbles as controllable drug delivery vehicles and ultrasound contrast agents as part of collaborative project with the RI and the Royal Free Hospital. Joshua successfully defended his DPhil thesis in November 2014 and will join the Oxford Centre for Drug Delivery Devices (OxCD3) as a Post-Doctoral researcher.
