Professor Eleanor Stride - New Associate Director for the CDT in Healthcare Innovation
After spending 2 years as the Associate Director for the CDT in Healthcare Innovation, Professor Michael Chappell is stepping down in order to take on the role of Associate Director for the joint Oxford Nottingham CDT in Biomedical Imaging.
Professor Eleanor Stride joined the IBME in October of 2011, when she also became a Fellow of St Catherine’s College. She is part of the BUBBL research team developing non-invasive therapy and drug delivery. Professor Stride’s research is focused on the two complementary areas of drug delivery systems engineering and biomedical ultrasonics. Professor Stride has won a number of awards and prizes, including the 2013 Bruce Lindsay Acoustical Society of America award and Parliamentary Science, Engineering and Technology for Britain medal and has been published in such journals as Nature Materials and the Proceedings of the Royal Society and National Academy of Sciences.
She has recently worked with the ERA Foundation to create an inspirational video aimed at attracting young people towards a career in engineering. C to watch the inspiring video, ‘Born to Engineer – Eleanor Stride’
