Physical activity monitoring and multivariate risk stratification in patients with chronic heart failure
Heart failure (HF) is a chronic condition that affects approximately 750,000 people in the UK. Mortality rates associated with HF are high, with more than 30% of patients dying within one year of diagnosis. Patient risk stratification techniques may help identify patients at risk of detereoration and therefore increase their likelihood of survival. This project aims to develop machine learning based algorithms for the stratification of heart failure patients. As input to the algorithms conventional biomarkers, such as weight and blood pressure, will be considered as well as physical activity.
